The
Tenor Dovlet Nurgeldiyev was born in 1978 in Ashgabat,
Turkmenistan where his talent and an intense affinity for music
revealed itself at an early age. He studied singing at the
capital's music college (1994-1998) and from 1998 he continued his
studies at the Turkmenistan National Conservatory (1998-2001). He won
prizes in various national and international vocal competitions
and gained invaluable concert experience in Russia and former
republics of the Soviet Union. Since 2001
he
has
been based in the Netherlands where he continued his studies at the Conservatory in Tilburg (2001-2005) and in
September 2005 was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Maestro
Valery Gergiev. In September 2006 he was admitted to
The Royal Conservatory in The Hague where he has been studying for a master's
degree. Dovlet
has performed frequently as a soloist in concerts, radio broadcasts
and live recordings throughout Europe and in the autumn of 2006 he
made his Dutch stage debut as "Geharnaste" in W.A.
Mozart's "Die Zauberflote" in Amsterdam's Rai Theater. Since
then he performed in Dvorak's Stabat Mater, Rossini's Petit Messe
Solennelle, in Puccini's 'Messa di Gloria' & Verdi's
'Requiem'. In December 2007 Dovlet made his European stage debut at
'La Monnaie' Opera house in Brussels when he sang oratoria by
Respighi and Saint-Saens. On April 5th 2008 he was invited to
sing at a special gala for MS-Research in The Hague where the world
famous tenor Jose Carreras also performed and at the end of June
he represented The Netherlands at Expo 2008 in Zaragoza, Spain.
In August 2008 he joined the
International Opera Studio at Hamburg State Opera where he made his European opera debut in the role of Fenton in Verdi's Falstaff.
During 2008/2009 he will also be singing roles in
Don
Carlos - La Bohème - La Traviata - Macbeth - Othello - Rigoletto -
Tosca - Dialogues des Carmélites - Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg
- La Fille du Régiment - Les Contes d'Hoffmann.
