Stella Maris Competition 2009
On November 5th 2009, Dovlet was awarded one of the
prizes in the prestigious Stella Maris Competition, a test
recording with Deutsche Grammophon!

Of the many talented singers in Hamburg S.O.'s
International Opera Studio, Dovlet Nurgeldiyev is
proving particularly special. His performance as Gaston
last December in La Traviata already alerted us to his
talents but his Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni surpassed
our already considerable expectations. It's a long time
since we heard a young singer with the vocal security,
maturity & experience of phrasing, combined with a
beautiful timbre and fine stage presence. We can safely
assume that this exceptional tenor will be seen and heard
on other major stages in the not too distant future.
On June 7th, 2007 Dovlet sang for H.M. Queen Beatrix
