Dovlet Nurgeldiyev began his vocal studies in his native
country Turkmenistan. He continued his studies in the
Netherlands at the Conservatory in Tilburg (2001-2005)
and in September 2006 was admitted to The Royal
Conservatory in The Hague where he was awarded his
batchelors and masters degree.
In September 2008 he joined the International
Opera Studio at Hamburg State Opera where he made a
highly acclaimed European debut as Fenton in Verdi's
Falstaff. From 2008 to 2010 he sang in many other
productions. In November 2009, Dovlet was awarded
one of the main prizes in the Stella Maris Competition,
a test recording with Deutsche Grammophon!
In 2010 Dovlet became a member of the
ensemble at Hamburg State Opera with highly acclaimed
debuts as Alfredo in La Traviata & Lensky in Eugene
Onegin. He has since given a series of outstanding
performances as Don Ottavio in a new production
of Don Giovanni which has received glowing reviews in the
German press as well as the Financial Times.
